8 Ways to Uplift Your Energy

In Energy: Where Does It Come From? we understood how important it is to be connected to our inner energy 🙂 In fact, when our heart is not completely open to receive it, we can be influenced much more easily by our surroundings.
How can we limit being drained by certain situations or people? How can we keep our energy level high and live a joyful life? Read on to find some ideas 🙂

Open Your Heart to Receive More Inner Energy

This is the most important thing you can do to uplift your energy: Reconnect to its source. How to do it? There are mainly two ways 🙂

Be Present.

Energy lives in the now. When we are lost in our thoughts about the past or the future we cut ourselves out from it. Moreover, incessant negative thinking drains us even more.
How can we be more present in our life? In 8 Ways to Live More Fully in the Present Moment you can find some suggestions to get started 🙂

The state of presence is the only state in which creative energy is available to you. —
Eckhart Tolle

Release Old Emotions

When we numb an unpleasant emotion it does not go away. Instead, it gets stored in our body, obstructing the flow of inner energy. To gain access to this internal source, it is important to release these blocks. Are you wandering how to do it? You can find all the details in Moving From the Head to the Heart: Let Emotional Energy Flow and How to Release Your Emotional Baggage? Feel Your Feelings in the Body 🙂

When you feel pain, simply view it as energy. Just start seeing these inner experiences as energy passing through your heart and before the eye of your consciousness. Then relax. Do the opposite of contracting and closing. Relax and release. ― Michael A. Singer

Accept What Is

Every time you internally resist the present moment, what you are actually doing is unnecessarily burning a lot for energy.
For example when you face a problematic situation, instead of continuously thinking This should not be happening to me! and allowing this negative attitude to create even more obstacles in your life, you can focus all your energy on trying to find a solution 🙂

Change the situation by taking action or by speaking out if necessary or possible. Leave the situation or accept it. All else is madness. ― Eckhart Tolle

Appreciate What You already Have

If you feel miserable and wait for someone else to come and save you from the situation you are in, chances are that you are going to stay stuck where you are. In fact, the only way to have more joy and abundance in your life is by starting appreciating what you already have 🙂 This is why feeling gratitude is so important 🙂
If you would like to establish your own gratitude practice, in Being Grateful: The Most Important Lesson you can find more details about how to get started 🙂

What Are You Putting Out into the World?

Remember that you are always going to get back the energy that you put out.
This is why you should always ask yourself why you do or say something. What is your intention? What motivates you? Love or fear? Always choose love 🙂
This is a very important topic discussed in detail in The Power of Intention 🙂

Every intention sets energy into motion, whether you are conscious of it or not. — Gary Zukav

Love and Accept Who You Are

Let go of all judgments about how you should be and what you should do and stop comparing continuously your path to someone else’s. These thoughts just keep you stuck in a spiral of negativity. Instead start to love and accept yourself exactly as you are, no matter what is going on in your life 🙂

Include Uplifting Activities in Your Daily Routine

Every time you do something uplifting your heart opens a little bit to receive the flux of energy. So it is very important to find out what works for you 🙂 It might be walking in nature, having a bath, playing with your kids or pets, enjoying a cup of tea, creating something, meditating, and so on.
How can you find out what charges your batteries? Try monitoring your energy level during the day, before and after doing any activity 🙂
Once you have figured out what works for you, do not forget to prioritize it 🙂 Try to incorporate it as much as possible in your daily schedule 🙂

Never Compromise Your Energy

Since our surrounding can influence strongly our energy, it is important to avoid or limit as much as possible situations and people that feel draining to us. To identify them constantly monitor your energy levels, before and after the interaction.
What if you cannot avoid completely draining situations or people? Totally accept them and find a better way to deal with them, without getting too much involved. For example it is important to learn to say no. If it is difficult for you to set boundaries, in Say Yes to Yourself! Set Boundaries you can find some advises to get started 😉
Moreover, you can also schedule something uplifting immediately after the interaction, so that you can bring up quickly your energy level 🙂

Love yourself enough to set boundaries. Your time and energy are precious. You get to choose how you use it. You teach people how to treat you by deciding what you will and won’t accept. ― Anna Taylor

Where Are You Focusing Your Attention?

When you are constantly focusing on other people or external situations you are giving your energy away. You can literally get lost in them. For example this can easily happen when you want to save someone else or solve a problem. Unfortunately, if your energy is low, whatever you do is not going to help neither them nor yourself. Instead, try to remain present and focused internally. Only from this place you can effectively help someone else.
Moreover, every time you focus all your attention on a fearful thought, what happens is that your energy immediately shrinks and this makes you even more fear prone, feeding the negative loop. It is important to avoid getting lost in fear. To do so, recognize it when it arises, accept it and then gently bring back the attention to the present moment. In How to Deal with Difficult Emotions? Say Yes to What Is you can find a practice that can help you 🙂

  3. I’ve arrived at your most enlightening post by way of Elizabeth. She reblogged your very inspiring words. I ,especially, like the part on setting boundaries. Too often I feel obligated to participate in something I may not be up to. I’m going to give it a try. Thank you 😊
